On meeting Maria Kalnay one is immediately impressed by her exceptional interpersonal skills and it is clear that the art of helping people comes naturally to her. She started her real estate career in the mid-90's handling both rentals and sales. Ms. Kalany's prior experience in marketing and high-end fashion sales lend much creativity in examining real estate issues from multiple perspectives and it allows for her clients' objectives to be met. She is ready and eager to make herself available to service her clients and this motivated approach ensures client satisfaction throughout all aspects of buying and selling residential properties.

Ms.Kalnay studied at the New York School of Interior Design and has a degree in Art History from Marymount Manhattan College where she graduated Cum Laude. Her brother was Ambassador to the United Nations form Nicaragua both before the revolution and after. He also served as Ambassador to Costa Rica and to the Dominican Republic. Ms. Kalnay is well connected socially, as well as in the international and diplomatic community. She is also an accredited translator-interpreter from the Latin American Institute and her speech flows easily from English to Spanish and French.
When she is not dedicating her talents to real estate, she does charity work to help the visually impaired, in particular with The Lighthouse International, where she has served as a member of the Board of Directors and is part of its Women Committee. As recreation, Ms.Kalnay enjoys the theatre, the opera, music and the fine arts. She plays bridge, swims and practices yoga, qigong, meditation and has a 2nd degree in Reiki. Her travels have taken her throughout Central and South American and to India, Turkey and frequently to Europe including visits with family in Spain. She is a member of the Metropolitan Club and the Doubles Club.
